St Andrews Beach topography
St Andrews Beach has unusual topography and is of scientific interest due to it being the eastern section of the Nepean Peninsula Duna system, known as ‘The Cups Country’. The area is unique in Victoria as usually these dunes are found in long parallel ridges but in The Cups the ridge system has been blown around, forming humps and hollows. The Cups Country is 2,500 ha in total.
